Hannah Fraser is a world acclaimed underwater mermaid and performance artist. She is credited with inventing a whole new vocation, becoming the first ‘Freelance Mermaid, she can swim like a mermaid, and does – tail and all. Hannah creates her own functional, yet highly exquisite mermaid tails, and also models and dances underwater. A dedicated Ocean activist, Hannah travels the world performing for charity projects and commercial ventures to bring awareness to the ocean and it’s precious animal life.
“Being in the ocean is where I feel the most free and expressive. A mermaid’s gift is to inspire people to rekindle their relationship to nature, and a way to communicate the environmental issues that face us at this point.
You can feel the connection and abundance of life around you as they move with the same currents, work symbiotically to survive, and adapt to suit their environment. Most sea animals are curious and interested in the humans that enter their world with respect. The ocean is the birthplace of life on Earth, and if I can be a visual link to inspire other humans who have become disconnected from this amazing world, I feel I have done something worthwhile.”
Hannah can free dive 50 feet and return to the surface on one breath of air. She swims with dolphins, sharks, whales, manatees, and any other oceany critter that happens her way. No tanks. No tubes. No wetsuit. Just her, the ocean, and her tail.
